In collaboration with our clients team we are looking for an addional members of the application, network, and desktop support departments. The selected incumbent will provide exceptional service and support to one of thier most valued clients.
We are sourcing a highly motivated and energetic individual with a minimum ten years senior server administration experience in a Microsoft Windows Server environment (2000/2003/2008). In addition you have demonstrated proficiency in a number of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, File, Print, Application, system management and Exchange services. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare ESX/ESXi and vSphere) is also required. In addition to the above qualifications, you have experience in supporting high availability, mission critical infrastructure. In this role you will be responsible for providing operational technical support in both test and production environments.
Responsibilities
? Present a helpful, resourceful and positive approach to designing, implementing, managing and assessing IT production systems and services.
? Install, configure, tune, monitor, troubleshoot and test server systems and services.
? Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures, service outage workarounds, and implement system safeguards.
? Work closely with the Team Lead to determine goals, objectives, initiatives and directions for the improvement of IT production systems and services.
? Fulfill department team requirements: participating in regular and special meetings, filling out time sheets and occasional working after-hours.
? Participate in on-call rotation
? Research, investigate, propose and enact any initiatives deemed by the team to improve technology services.
? Regularly document system configurations, best practices, and common procedures.
? Providing support and resolving technical problems
Required Knowledge
? Senior knowledge of Microsoft Windows server systems 2003, 2008
? Extensive knowledge of network services such as DNS, DFS, LDAP, Web, Email, FTP, Firewalls, VPN?s, remote management, and network monitoring.
? Extensive knowledge and experience with VMWare ESX environments
? Knowledge and experience with common scripting languages, in particular VB script and PowerShell.
? Extensive experience with data management, capacity planning, backup and archival processes, and system performance monitoring and tuning.
? Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010.
? Senior knowledge of Wintel server hardware including Fibre-channel SAN technology.
? Demonstrated understanding of business fundamentals and project management.
Required skills and abilities
? Five+ years work experience as a Server Support Engineer and/or Project Technology Engineer.
? Managing Windows 2003/2008 Servers (migration, troubleshooting, and networking).
? Expert level Exchange 2007 and Active Directory experience.
? 5+ years solid experience with W2003/2008 is essential.
? Neat professional appearance and manner.
? Ability to adapt and acquire new skills quickly
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for specific deliverables.
? Ability to manage pressure and deadlines. High energy level, can-do attitude and team focused.
? Specific experience with networking technologies such as routing, switching, TCP/IP, and layer 4 to 7 protocols.
? Experience developing and using customer support tools and processes.
Required Skills and Abilities
? Minimum 10 years experience in senior level IT technical support and operations environments
? Previous experience in large enterprise environments is required
? Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary
