Technical Team Leader – Software & Firmware
We have an immediate need for a Technical Team Leader – Software & Firmware
Skills and Knowledge
1. Strong technical background and proven experience in managing a team of engineers responsible for Software (SW) and Firmware (FW) development for embedded electronic applications typically used in closed loop actuation systems used in commercial and military aircraft flight controls.
2. Applicant must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage the resources and plan, organize, lead and control division of labor within the team to meet objectives and schedules.
3. Extensive experience with SW and FW development per DO-178B and DO-254 design assurance processes for deployment in safety critical electronic applications.
4. Extensive experience with utilizing leading industry standards, tools and processes for SW/FW development.
5. Direct certification experience with commercial aircraft regulatory & certification authorities (FAA, EASA, ANAC, TCA) is desirable.
6. Strong presentation skills and proven ability to work cooperatively with engineering and business teams to meet internal and external customer commitments and schedules.
Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for leading a team of engineers in the development of tools and processes enabling the electronics organization to complete complex SW and FW development projects efficiently and accounting for continuous improvement.
2. Responsible for planning the top level SW & FW project execution and sets the overall technical execution parameters for the development team.
3. Responsible for establishing the SW/FW project organization and staffing for project execution, including utilization of out-source activities managing peak demands.
4. Collaborates with Electronic Hardware design and Systems teams to meet overall system and business objectives.
5. Participation in proposals, budgets and resource planning and act as the point of contact for program management as it relates to SW/FW development within the Electronics organization.
6. Some travel (domestic and international) is required.
