We have an immediate need for a Machine Vision Sr. Engineering Tech
JOB DESCRIPTION
MACHINE VISION SR. ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Objective:
Assist in the development, testing, installation, and customer support of machine vision systems by working closely with Machine Vision sales and engineering staffs.
Responsibilities:
. Support sales of machine vision systems by maintaining a thorough familiarity of client's machine vision systems and capabilities
o Support sales demonstrations by building demo systems
. Support Design/Development of machine vision systems:
o Assist in the development of new machine vision systems through prototyping, lab setup, and evaluation testing
o Design (create mechanical design drawings) and build in-house test fixtures
o Design mechanical systems (with mechanical design drawings) to be installed in customer facilities
o Design, build and test simple electronic circuits used for in-house testing
o Design, build and test illumination systems (mechanical and electronic design)
o Design, build and test cables
. Support assembly/testing of machine vision systems
. Install and support machine vision systems
. Organize and maintain MVS lab
. Diagnose and repair sub-assemblies and systems as needed
. General skills:
o Electronics design, assembly and test
o Mechanical design
o General computer software competence (Windows, Office)
o Some software development capabilities (Basic, C, C++, PLC logic) a plus
Qualifications and Requirements:
. Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
. Must have 10 years of experience in the technical field, preferably at least half in machine vision.
. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
. Some domestic and international travel required.
