We have an immediate need for a 3rd Shift z/OS Performance Analyst
JOB DESCRIPTION
z/OS Performance Analyst
Provide and/or implement tuning/configuration recommendations for existing host (sub)system's related resources and architecture, eg workload manager, virtual/private/central/expanded storage, DASD, TSO, VLF, CF resources, XCF/XES pathing and messaging, CICS subsystem performance tuning parameters, IMS subsystem performance tuning parameters, DB2 subsystem performance tuning parameters
Evaluate and make recommendations to introduce alternate performance enhancing configurations/technologies
Monitor effect of tuning changes and analyze the final results of change
Establish and maintain system tuning parameters to ensure optimal utilization of critical performance-related (sub)system resources
Analyze the impact of configuration/technology changes- eg hardware changes and/or (sub)system upgrades
Validate implementation of hardware configurations
Participate in establishing LPAR definition parameters
3rd shift hours, some week ends and on call are required for this 12+ month contract assignment in Hopewell Junction, NY
